S-traps is that Super Mario plumbing systems under your sink and it looks like a “S”. These fixtures have been around for over 2 decades, but over the years it’s been prohibited under all codes. This is because the “S” trap will siphon or suck water out from the trap which will end up releasing methane (sewer) gases into the home. Over the years building products are making it where the average homeowners could do basic repairs. Heck…. I could run to the local hardware store, buy the S-trap and install it myself.
