As we have done for the past few years, OPS will be collecting gift cards or money (to purchase gift cards) again this year. Gift cards will be exclusively from WALMART, TARGET, FIVE BELOW, SHOPRITE, and ACME. Donations can be made by purchasing the gift card yourself, writing a check (made payable to Vivian Barnett), giving cash to the school representative (I can facilitate this for you), or by sending money through Venmo (-Barnett-1). If you choose Venmo, please put "holiday" in the memo line.
The deadline to make a donation is Monday, December 11th. This gives time to purchase, sort, and distribute to families accordingly. All contributions are appreciated and will go a long way to help our students in need. Happy Holidays🎅🎄❄🤶

Each year around the holidays, we collect donations for meals and gifts for families in need in our school community. In the past, local businesses and organizations have helped us to support this cause.
We are looking for holiday meals or store gift cards to help these families in our community.
If any business or organization is looking to help this season, please reach out to me via email [email protected].
We also provide support throughout the year to families in need. If you know of a family in need or a company that provides support, please share them with me. All family details are kept private. The PTA is a non-profit organization.

Oaklyn has both a food pantry https://www.oaklynbaptist.org/food-pantry.php and participates in the Panther Pantry at Collingswood HS (see previous post) for our students who attend there.
I'm always happy to collect and deliver any donations to these locations.

Community members can either donate the items we need to their local school (aka Oaklyn) or donate monetarily to our Venmo account ( -Last Four Digits 2919...
Please Write “Donation”). We use these funds to purchase items not donated and for gift cards to Aldi, Acme, ShopRite, or Walmart so families can purchase the items we cannot supply like fresh fruits/vegetables, meats, milk, and cold items.

In conjunction with OPS teachers, we are organizing additional supplies needed for this school year. Please bring donations to the drop box on the porch at 104 Kendall Blvd or contact Amy Doyle Gavaghan for pick up. Donations needed:
* dry erase markers
* plastic 2-pocket folders in primary colors
