Week one of SMASH Academy is where STEM starts to feel real.

For our SMASH scholars, campus life is more than a backdrop. It helps make the future feel closer, especially as scholars begin to immerse themselves in STEM and connect with a community built to support their growth.

SMASH summer has officially entered the chat. 💙

This week, our SMASH scholars in began their summer experience by building community and laying the foundation for friendships that will last for years.

Scholars began the week with sound bowls, outdoor activities, and time to settle into dorm life. It's been a grounding start to a summer built around STEM learning, confidence, leadership, and community.

We are so excited to welcome our scholars to Atlanta and celebrate the start of another meaningful SMASH summer!

A laptop is more than a device. It can be a classroom, a research tool, a coding workspace, a college application portal, and a bridge to opportunity.

SMASH recently partnered with Inspiredu for the Inspiredu x SMASH Digital Literacy Workshop Series in Atlanta.

Through the collaboration, SMASH Morehouse and SMASH Atlanta scholars participated in digital literacy training and received laptop access to support their learning beyond the workshop.

This partnership brought together SMASH’s 25-year commitment to STEM education with Inspiredu’s work to bridge the digital divide through technology access, training, and support.

Thank you to Inspiredu for helping Atlanta scholars build the skills, confidence, and tools to keep moving forward.

Valeria was named the first Hispanic valedictorian in Chapel Hill High School’s history and is headed to Georgia Tech, where she plans to major in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

We are so proud of Valeria and all that she has accomplished. Her hard work, leadership, and brilliance continue to inspire us, and we cannot wait to see what she does next.
