I had the opportunity to photograph the painter Thomas Bullard at his home studio. I love the process of collaborating with another creator and being in the space where they work. This was my first time seeing his paintings in person; they created a wonderful atmosphere - I could have spent a long time sitting with them. I could see the relationship between the person and the work - Thomas is very present, very patient. I loved the sense of the frame within the frame in our final images. I left feeling revived and inspired.

What a treat to work with Stacey King Gordon again! My work is really about human connection, so it is especially meaningful to reconnect with such a wonderful person after a number of years have flown by. Big congratulations on her upcoming book; I'm so inspired by this accomplishment and can't wait to read it. I'll post again when it's available...stay tuned!

P.S. This was written by Nancy, not AI...so it probably took me longer than it should have! ;-)

Finding beauty in the details is one of my favorite things to do when photographing in labs. These images can be used as backgrounds to add visual interest and atmosphere to websites, pitch decks, and marketing materials.
I'm passionate about working with scientists who bring us life-saving medicines. Thank you for your work!

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at a project I had the pleasure of working on with Genesis Therapeutics, a company pushing the boundaries of AI-driven drug discovery. Their deep learning platform, GEMS, is helping design small-molecule drugs by predicting how they interact with complex proteins—an incredible step forward in medicine.
Big thanks to the Genesis team (www.genesistherapeutics.ai) for their collaboration and Dan Moore for the BTS photos!

Literacy is a civil right, and we have been failing to protect this right for our youth. Kuddos to Jessica Reid Sliwerski ski, who is confronting our national literacy crisis head on.
Jessica co-founded Ignite Reading in 2021, fueled by the knowledge that every child can learn to read and there is a proven way to teach them. Ignite Reading delivers data-driven, one-to-one virtual tutoring that teaches every student the foundational skills to become a fluent, confident reader. Students across all demographics achieve the same outstanding results–an average of 2.4 weeks of reading skills growth per week of instruction. By ensuring all students master the foundational skills to fluently read any word, Ignite Reading empowers them to move forward and unlock everything school and life have to offer.
Ignite Reading is now teaching thousands of students to read in districts across 13 states with further plans to expand nationwide.
It was a pleasure to photograph Jessica and hear her story; to see more of my portrait work, visit www.nancyrothstein.com

It was an honor to photograph one of the most dynamic and powerful women I know; a true changemaker. Amira Barger MBA,CVA,CFRE is an Executive Vice President at Edelman, providing senior DEI and Communications counsel to clients. She is an author, professor, scholar-practitioner, and thought leader who brings experience in strategic communications that reach stakeholders, mobilize the community and inspire action. She serves as an adjunct professor in marketing and communications at California State University - East Bay and lectures at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Find her everywhere...Fast Company, Forbes, MSNBC, Business Insider...and the list goes on.
In her spare time, Amira and her family collect stamps in the National Park Service Passport Cancellation Book. They plan to visit all 417 national parks in the U.S. .
I'm looking forward to reading her chapters in the new release by Cyndi Suarez and the Nonprofit Quarterly Staff, "Building A Pro-Black World: Moving Beyond DE&I Work and Creating Spaces for Black People to Thrive," which was named as Porchlight Book Company’s Best Business Books of 2023 in the category of Big Ideas and New Perspectives!
