For 15 straight years, California has ranked in the bottom third of the country for kids’ well-being. That's unacceptable.

This month our partner the Annie E. Casey Foundation released the 2026 KIDS COUNT® Data Book, which measures child well-being in every state across economic well-being, education, health, and family and community. It found California ranks 33rd among all states in child well-being, 34th in education, and 45th in economic well-being.

California simply needs to prioritize kids more, and for whomever the next Governor is, improving our kids’ well-being has to be a top priority.

Students benefit when school leaders reflect the communities they serve. 🫶

While nearly 79% of California TK-12 students are students of color, only about 30% of school leaders share that background. is helping close that gap by creating pathways for diverse and culturally responsive educators to step into leadership roles across the state, strengthening school culture, improving educator retention, and helping students feel seen and supported. ✨

California must continue investing in programs like DELPI by including funding in the state budget. 🏫
