🎉Local Clean Energy Alliance & Allies Big Win - the California Supreme Court Agreed with our defense of Rooftop Solar in CA. The California Public Utilities Commission decision on Net Energy Metering- is unlawfully harming rooftop solar growth, especially in disadvantaged communities. We are especially seeing the negative impacts as we attempt to advance community driven resilience hubs with microgrids of solar and storage in environmental justice communities. Next stop, the court of appeals! 🌻

If you reside in Alameda or San Joaquin County, please join us in urging Ava Community Energy to vote NO on an extremely dangerous California State Senate Bill!
Ava Community Energy was established to support the local clean energy economy.
SB 540 proposes that California join a larger Western regional energy organization, claiming that this move will save money for energy market participants, enhance grid reliability, and decrease the risk of power outages. However, these benefits hinge on factors beyond California's control. These promises are misleading and do not outweigh the risks associated with the Pathways Initiative. A regional marketplace would undermine our ability to effectively invest in local clean energy, place our power markets under federal oversight, and potentially raise costs for ratepayers.
Ava Community Energy should NOT support this bill and should instead advocate for legislation that fosters clean energy and creates healthy jobs.
