At two local IHOPs, Ramadan halal specials were so popular they’re staying on the menu Guests drove hours to get halal-certified food in Tujunga and Fullerton this Ramadan. Dave's Hot Chicken also carries halal products.

Tarawih prayers were held again in Ayasofya Mosque (Istanbul) after 88 years 😍

Muhallabia is a traditional Middle Eastern milkpudding thickened with either rice or corn flour. It is creamy, luscious and very easy to make. This dessert is usually scented with rose or orange blossom water. Since we are in the midst of mango season, I decided to add a layer of Alphonso mango sauce for some tart contrast. I also opted to keep my version refined sugar-free, (using erythritol in place of sugar).

P.S. I shot the pudding with hard and soft light (swipe left). I am partial to the hard light shot. Which one do you prefer?

Middle Eastern inspired platter!

We wanted to pretend that it was warm today but that sun was deceiving and it was actually really cold 🥶😅
- Plant Pioneers lamb and mint kofta ( we really liked these just like a spiced sausage!) drizzled with harissa creme fraiche and parsley.
- Paprika pearl barley
- Ras el Hanout roasted cauliflower drizzled with tahini, chilli honea, pistachios, sultanas and coriander.
- Herby falafels
- Salad with feta 😍
- Homemade Zhoug and Hummus
- Garlic and paprika fries and crispy tortillas 💃
Sunday’s are for eating and this definitely hit the spot!
