Yesterday was California Adopt-a-Pet Day! Thank you to the ASPCA and San Francisco SPCA for making this event possible.

While we didn't have any adoptions this year, we are genuinely happy for every pet that found a home through the event. We hope each one enjoys a lifetime of love, stability, and commitment from their new family.

As a rescue organization, however, we also see the bigger picture. While free adoption events help pets find homes, they are not the long-term solution to pet overpopulation. Spaying and neutering remain the most effective way to reduce the number of homeless animals entering shelters and rescues.

Like many rescue groups, we ensure all of our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption. Because many of the cats we take in come directly from the streets, we also practice Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for community cats, including mother cats, to help prevent future litters and reduce suffering.

Every adoption matters. Every spay and neuter matters. Together, they help create a better future for cats in our communities.
