We provide constructive, positive support, and resources needed to make the smoothest possible transition. The Lunch4Literacy event today was awesome! Sold out crowd for the 22nd annual Altrusa of Oak Ridge & Oak Ridge Breakfast Rotary fundraiser for literacy. Denise Kiernan, author of "The Girls of the Atomic City" was the guest speaker. Many of the "girls" in the book attended the event. She has done much to promote Oak Ridge (a.k.a. Atomic City/Secret City) to the rest of the world and we are thankful for that!! We're not a best kept secret any more.

Looking for candidates for scholarship money! Altrusa is offering scholarships of up to $1,000 each to deserving women who have returned to college or other schools after interrupting their education or who are beginning their post-high school education and who demonstrate a genuine financial need. Contact me if you know of someone that is interested.

Working with 2 clients to "kill 2 birds with one stone". Going through closets, drawers, garage, kitchen cabinets.. sorting it all ;stuff to keep, stuff to gift, stuff to sell or donate. Clearing it all out to get the house ready to sell and what they have kept is what they will move to their new, smaller retirement community home.

Enjoyed meeting with IDS. Talked about ways to assist clients with clutter and collections issues. You have to find a system that works for them or it will always come back.

Presenting today . A group of older adults who want to talk about getting better organized- clearing clutter- & creating a home space that best suits their present needs. Just because it has always been that way doesn't mean it needs to stay that way.
