Last weekend at Ashway Speedway, the 09 was fast. Set the pole in JR1 and still had more speed sitting in the trailer.

Come feature time… Lord Humbler showed up early and gave us a flat right rear before the green even dropped. Smashed the gas and Wyatt was a sitting duck. Another DNF for the books.

We also jumped into JR2. Had speed there too. Just not quite enough for the win. Only 2 karts in the class, so we finished 2nd… or last… just depends how you look at it 😂

We’ll regroup and be back at it. Speed is there—we just need a little racing luck on our side.

Went and had some fun at Ashway Speedway this weekend with some regular race action. Honestly, just what we needed, good seat time, worked on a few things, and got some confidence back.

Ran both Jr1 and Jr2 and had a pretty solid night. Ended up sweeping both classes, heat and feature wins in Jr1 and Jr2.

Really appreciate Mike Hillard always keeping an eye on Wyatt and helping coach him. That means a lot to us.

Back at it next week 🏁

Today’s bigger than racing. We’re thankful for what this day really represents, grace, sacrifice, and a fresh start.

✝️ He is risen.

Any Green Plate or Purple Plate racers want to get together at Ashway this weekend?

If you’re thinking about it, just come on. Comment or shoot me a message so we can get a count.

First race back and we’re glad to check that one off the list. Everything was where it needed to be — tires were right, engine was strong, kart was handling. Only issue… the crew chief might’ve forgot his job description and let the left front wheel make an early exit 😅
After that it turned into a catch-up game where we found ourselves making more costly mistakes. We’ll tighten things up (literally) and be back at it next race.

Looking to hire a new Crew Chief.

Ready to get back to racing. See you all at Morrison Speedway this Saturday.

Excited to get to Morrison on March 28th for the spring thaw! Looking to be a record crowd we still have parking available. We're gonna head down to dawgwood this weekend to check out Rodney byers and crew at the peach state shootout looking forward to seeing everyone there

This is where it started.

At the fence, Wyatt watched as karts came off the track at Dumplin Valley. For some people, racing is something you see once and walk away from. For others, it’s a disease. You catch it and it never lets go. On this day, it found him.

He stood there, gripping the fence, watching every kart like he was trying to memorize the moment. From that day on, he asked almost every single day if he could race. Not once. Not occasionally. Every day. The answer was “not yet” more times than I can count.

Eventually, we gave in and got him a kart. He loves all of it. The early mornings, the late nights, sleeping in the truck, the wins, the losses, the tears, the lessons, the hard work, the patience, the heartbreak, and the pride.

Looking back at this picture, it’s crazy to think how much started right here. Just a kid at a fence with a dream bigger than he was. Racing didn’t just become something he does. It became part of who he is.

And to this day, he still watches the track the same way, like he’s exactly where he’s supposed to be.

Daytona KartWeek Recap 🏁

If you’ve never been to Daytona KartWeek, just know this for us it’s an emotional, mental, and physical roller coaster that kicks our ass every single year. As soon as you think the kart is dialed in, the track changes. You adjust… and it changes again.

From the outside, our results might look mediocre. But for our team, this week was an accomplishment. At the level Wyatt and I are at, making the show is a win. Every day, every race had stacked fields of 29–39 karts. Nothing came easy for us

Day 1
Practice — Wyatt was flying.
Qualifying — I got overconfident and made a boneheaded call trying to find more speed. It bit us, and we didn’t make the show.

Day 2
• JR1: Qualified 8th, and due to fog, qualifying counted as the race. We’ll take a Top 10.
• JR1 Pro: Had speed, but spun in qualifying and didn’t make the show.

Day 3
Fast all day.
• JR1: Qualified 8th, but got punted in the feature on lap two — DNF.
• JR1 Pro: Qualified 18th, struggled a bit, but finished 14th. Not horrible in a field like that.

I couldn’t be more proud of Wyatt. He never quit, kept his head up, and raced his heart out all week. We’re exhausted, but we had an absolute blast hanging out with our racing family and making memories we’ll never forget.

Daytona owes us nothing — and we’ll be back. 💪🏁s
