📱 Fight Fraud Friday: Beware the New “Video Call” Scam
Scammers are getting bolder — and more creative.
A new tactic we’re seeing involves fraudsters asking to FaceTime, Google Meet, or video chat with you. Their goal isn’t to talk… it’s to capture your face.
Once they have a clear video of you, they will use it for:
- Deepfake videos
- Identity verification scams
- Account takeovers
- Impersonating you to others
If someone you don’t know suddenly wants to video chat — especially if the request feels rushed, random, or tied to money or personal info — end the call immediately.
Your face is part of your identity. Protect it like you protect your PIN.
