As a people for God's own possession; (I Pet 2:9) we live our lives in the pursuit of bringing glory to God (Rom 12:1-2). Specifically, our congregation desires to "Equip the Saints for Ministry and Edify the Body of Christ" (Eph 4:12). Through careful preaching and teaching of God's Word (II Tim 3:16-17) and diligently preserving the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace (Eph 4:3) we hope to achieve this goal.

What is truly worth everything? 📖✨

In today’s sermon, "A Radical Reassessment pt2," Pastor Jess Larson walked us through Philippians 3:8-11, exploring the life-changing shift that happens when we find something—Someone—of surpassing value.
We discovered:

✨ The Joy in being found in Jesus.
✨ The Peace in being justified by Jesus.
✨ The Hope in being joined to Jesus.

When we reassess everything in light of Christ, the gain is worth far more than anything we could ever leave behind.

It’s a common misconception that being surrounded by faithful people automatically guarantees your own spiritual standing. Many lean on the faith of their parents or the sincerity of their relatives, but proximity to believers isn't the same as personal salvation. True faith can’t be inherited or caught by osmosis—it requires a direct, individual response to Jesus. Admiring someone else's walk with God is beautiful, but it's time to ask: where does that journey begin for you personally? A challenging, necessary reflection on finding a faith that is truly your own.

Christianity isn't just an addition to life; it is the center or it is nowhere.

This powerful insight challenges the status quo, pushing past shallow faith into a complete, radical transformation of one's entire existence. It’s about more than just checking boxes—it’s a total reassessment of what matters. When that shift happens, the things once held as sources of pride—whether past mistakes or even self-righteous achievements—suddenly look entirely different.

Dive into this deep look at Philippians 3:4-7 and explore what it truly means to count previous assets as liabilities and embrace a life redefined by faith. It’s time to move beyond false security and step into a radically new perspective.

Ever wonder why faith doesn’t always equal perfect health? This powerful clip challenges the misconception that following Jesus guarantees a pain-free life. Instead, it offers a sobering yet hopeful perspective: sometimes, the very illness that feels like the worst chapter of life is actually a tool for spiritual awakening, designed to get our attention and draw us closer to God. It’s a profound reminder that even in our darkest bouts with sickness, there is purpose to be found.

We had an incredible time today at Sojourn Baptist Church as Pastor Jess Larson shared a powerful message titled "A Radical Reassessment" from Philippians 3:4-7.

We explored how easy it is to lean on false confidences and the importance of a clarifying evaluation of our lives. Pastor Jess challenged us to:

    •    Recognize a Popular Pitfall: We looked at the common false confidences that often lead us astray.
    •    Pursue a Drastic Divestiture: We accepted a clarifying evaluation of where our true worth lies.
    •    Count Previous Assets as Liabilities: We learned to see our past achievements as liabilities when compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ.

It was a transformative day of reassessing our hearts and finding our true security in Him. If you missed it, listen on YouTube!

Are there people in your life whose character makes you want to be a better person?

There is a profound difference between reading about historical truths and seeing them lived out in real-time. This speaker explores the powerful concept of enfleshed faith—where we look to those who are actively imitating Christ, making their own lives worthy of imitation. It’s not about perfection; it’s about the grace-filled, Spirit-empowered commitment to walking the path set by Jesus.

When faith moves from theory to practice, it becomes a blueprint for others. Are you living in a way that others could safely follow? Dive into this challenging perspective on what it means to be a Christian exemplar and how to develop the grit, service, and sacrifice that define a life truly lived for others.
