Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not just a moment in history—it is an ongoing pursuit of equity, opportunity, and justice for all. As we work to end hunger in our community, we recognize that food insecurity is deeply connected to systemic barriers that have disproportionately impacted Black communities for generations.

We remain committed to building a future where everyone has access to the nutritious food, resources, and support they need to thrive.

This July 1st - 7th, we are partnering with Albertson's Companies and nonprofits nationwide to participate in the Nourish The American Dream campaign. This week-long campaign works to target childhood hunger during a time when resources, like school meals, are limited for families facing food insecurity.

Our collective, nationwide goal is to raise $5 million. Donations made to Beyond Hunger during this time with directly support our hunger-relief programs, including providing food for individuals of all ages.

Last week our team and volunteers spent Sunday afternoon at Day In Our Village alongside many other organizations and community members! Folks who visited us got a chance to meet with Jennie, our CEO, who is already coming up on her one-year anniversary with Beyond Hunger.

The Austin Townhall Farmer's Market is back this Thursday! You can visit to shop local farmers and growers, and visit the Beyond Hunger table for refreshing summer recipe samples and information on our programs.

Summer is here, and it's a great time to volunteer! Our volunteer base is critical to keeping Beyond Hunger running smooth and effectively, and the time they donate is equivalent to 13 full-time staff members.

We're hiring!

🍎 AmeriCorps VISTA (3 positions): We are hiring for 3 AmeriCorps VISTA Capacity Building members! Each VISTA will work closely with either our Home Delivery, Food Pantry, or Development team to assist with essential activities like survey building and distribution, developing training modules for volunteers, and creating fundraising strategies.
🍎 As we work towards implementing an online market for our neighbors, the Online Market Assistant will be critical in managing market operations and project planning.
