One of the biggest retirement questions isn’t: “When can I retire?”
It’s: “Will my income last once I do?”
That difference between the income you’ll need… and the income you’ll actually have… is called a retirement income gap.
For many people, Social Security and savings alone may not fully cover:
• everyday living expenses
• healthcare costs
• inflation
• travel and lifestyle goal
• longer retirements
That’s where annuities can play a role.
Annuities are designed to help create a more predictable stream of retirement income — helping reduce uncertainty and provide added financial confidence in retirement.
At BWO Insurance, we help clients understand how insurance and retirement income strategies can work together to help protect the future they’ve worked hard to build.

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who never stop protecting what matters most.
Protection looks different over the years.
First, it was bikes and band-aids.
Now it’s homes, families, and future planning.

One backyard accident could turn into a lawsuit.
Pool injuries can lead to:
• ER visits
• Expensive medical bills
• Legal claims
• Liability lawsuits
The question isn’t whether you have homeowners' insurance. It’s whether you have enough coverage.

ATV season is here. So is the liability risk. 🏕️
Most riders assume their homeowners' insurance automatically covers ATV accidents.
Not always.
If someone gets injured while riding your ATV — on your property or off — you could be responsible for:
• Medical bills
• Property damage
• Legal claims
• Liability lawsuits
Before the trails get busy, make sure your coverage is built for more than just the ride.

Going on vacation? ✈️
Before you check into that Airbnb or rental house, ask yourself:
If something gets stolen… damaged… or someone gets hurt — am I covered?
Many travelers assume the rental property’s insurance protects them. Not always.
Depending on your policy, your homeowners or renters insurance may help cover:
• Personal belongings
• Liability claims
• Accidental damage
• Temporary living expenses
But coverage can vary — especially with short-term rentals.
A quick insurance review before vacation can help avoid expensive surprises later.

Your insurance only knows what you tell it.
A lot can change over the years — but many people never update their policy after major life upgrades.
Things people commonly forget to update:
• Remodeled kitchens
• Engagement rings
• Finished basements
• Teen drivers
• Home office equipment
If your coverage hasn’t been reviewed in a while, there’s a chance your policy no longer matches your life.
A quick review now can help prevent expensive surprises later.

STORM DAMAGE: WHAT TO PHOTOGRAPH FIRST ⛈️
After a storm, most people immediately start cleaning up.
But before anything gets moved or repaired — document EVERYTHING.
Here’s what to photograph first for a smoother insurance claim:
1️⃣ Exterior Wide Shots Capture the full property from multiple angles to show the overall damage.
2️⃣ Roof Damage: Missing shingles, dents, exposed areas, leaks, or debris impact.
3️⃣ Fallen Trees & Debris: Photograph where trees or branches landed before removal begins.
4️⃣ Water Intrusion: Ceiling stains, wet drywall, flooded basements, damaged flooring, or standing water.
5️⃣ Serial Numbers & Receipts: Appliances, electronics, furniture, and major items damaged in the storm.
Bonus Tip: Take photos BEFORE temporary repairs or cleanup whenever possible.
The more proof you have, the smoother the claims process usually goes.
