Annual reminder that Baby To Go supports all families. 🌈

I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a community filled with people who are thoughtful, compassionate, hilarious, resilient, and willing to show up for each other.

As a doula, I get a front row seat to the many different ways families are built. The common denominator is not gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or relationship status. It’s love, sleep deprivation, and an alarming number of tiny socks.

I’m proud to support LGBTQIA+ families, and I’m even prouder to call so many of these wonderful humans my friends.

Happy Pride, friends. I’m glad you’re here.
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Me: “It’s kind of like when kids put pins through the outer layer of skin on their fingers.”

Dad: 👁️👄👁️

Apparently not everyone did this growing up.

I was trying to explain that a fetal scalp electrode sounds much more dramatic than it actually is.

When people hear “they screw a monitor into the baby’s head,” it’s easy to imagine something much more invasive than reality.

A fetal scalp electrode is a tiny monitor that attaches to the outer layer of baby’s scalp to provide a more accurate heart rate reading during labor when it’s needed.

Birth is full of things that sound terrifying until someone explains what they actually are.

🧷 Now I am curious: did you do this as a kid?

Or are you currently staring at this post wondering what kind of childhood the rest of us had?

I am on a Zoom training all weekend and Oscar demanded to be a part of it. 😂 (I don’t wear any human babies in this particular ring sling - this is his, specifically.)

The Surprising Benefits of 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' for Teens Years After Preschool 05/08/2026

Fred Rogers is one of my all-time favorite human beings. Speaking to children with genuine kindness, respect, emotional intelligence, and without condescension has left an incredible legacy.

Also, not to name drop, but I met the real Mr. McFeely and Henrietta Pussycat so honestly I feel extremely qualified to speak on this topic. 😂

The Surprising Benefits of 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' for Teens Years After Preschool A new study reveals the long-term impact the show can have. Here's why.

Birth work is a job of witnessing miracles: the magical and sacred moment of a brand new human coming into the world.

Across cultures and centuries, babies born en caul have been seen as something special; in parts of Europe, they were believed to be protected from drowning, destined for a life guided by intuition and luck. In some Caribbean traditions, they’re thought to carry spiritual sight or heightened connection to the unseen. Sailors once treasured cauls as talismans of protection. Families kept them, honored them, passed down the stories.

Watching a baby be born still cocooned in their safe little bubble feels like watching the veil between worlds thin, just for a second. Miraculous.

🛳️ A few days of professional development, community, and ocean views. I came home inspired, connected, and fully supportive of continuing education with a side of karaoke and poolside drinks.

🚢 Heading out tomorrow for a little professional development and sunshine so obviously the nails needed to match the energy.

🦩 Fun fact I’m obsessed with: flamingos of both sexes lose their pink after their babies hatch. Similarly, raising tiny humans will drain the life (and color) right out of you… but it comes back!

📱 I’ll still be in touch while I’m away (because of course I will), but if something urgent comes up, I’ve got a trusted backup doula ready to jump in.💜
