This episode was such a great reflection on both our personal and professional experiences with midlife nutrition.

It may remind you that clients need more than one-size-fits-all advice, and I hope it also reminds you that your business deserves the same kind of care.

Authentic marketing is not just promoting your practice—it’s about building relationships, educating your audience, positioning yourself as a trusted expert, and then selling your services to your ideal clients.

If you want support on how to approach your marketing plus insider tips, and everything else that comes with being a private practice owner, I invite you to apply for the next cohort of Business School that starts Monday, June 15.

I would love to work with you on your overall messaging and marketing plan (with social media or other forms of marketing) to get clients to your practice!

Business School is for anyone who’s ready to stop staying stuck in an unfulfilling job because they’re scared to take the leap. Or for anyone who is downplaying their expertise and worried about putting themselves in the spotlight.

It’s for you if you’re ready to start your private practice (even if you’re working full time).

If you’re up for it, tell me how you’re currently marketing your practice OR what confuses you about marketing in the comments below ⬇️

Boundaries prevent burnout and build sustainability.

PSA: You do not need to have it all figured out before you take your business seriously. You just need support, structure, and a willingness to show up imperfectly and keep going.

In my latest workshop, we covered these 5 boundaries and how they can help you:
➡️ make more money
➡️ protect your time
➡️ attract aligned clients
➡️ lead with confidence
➡️ go after what you want

These are the kinds of business lessons I teach and the conversations we have in Business School, and the next cohort begins Monday, June 15!

Business School is NOT a course that sits in your inbox.

Business School is accountability, coaching, community, curriculum, and 1:1 support. It’s for dietitians who decide they don’t want to settle.

Does that sound like you? I would love to work together to build a business (and life!) you love.

Midlife nutrition is not about trying to get back to a younger version of yourself or becoming vulnerable to every message that promises to “fix” this season of transition. It is about helping clients understand what their bodies need now, reconnect with themselves, and make choices that support their health, energy, values, and quality of life.

In this week’s episode of the Pursuing Private Practice Podcast, I sat down with Megan Hadley .hadley nutritionist and owner of Simple Nutrition , a nutrition counseling practice in Greensboro, NC that specializes in supporting people with eating disorders and disordered eating.

This conversation is both personal and professional, as both Megan and I reflect on our own experiences in midlife. Megan shares her expertise from working with clients navigating food, body image, hormones, health concerns, and the overwhelming influence of diet culture.

This episode is such a beautiful reminder that our work is not just about giving nutrition advice. It is about helping clients understand themselves, reconnect with their bodies, and feel supported in the full context of their lives.

Here’s a business truth: Everyone wishes for more money, better leadership from leaders, and an easier work/life balance.

🔥 My hot take: YOU are in charge of your career, your business, and what type of work you are willing to put in. Everyone wishes for these things, but only YOU can make them happen.

Building a business requires hard work, risk, consistency, decision-making, marketing, leadership, and a willingness to get out of your comfort zone.

& it’s OK to ask for help, seek guidance and mentorship, and learn from how others have built successful businesses in the private practice space. We are all still individual business owners, serving our unique clients, running our businesses in our own ways, even if the core fundamentals of owning a private practice are similar.

I know what it takes to run a private practice at all stages and (more importantly) I’ve worked with over 400 dietitians to build their own private practice.

If you are ready to build a private practice with more strategy, support, and intention, I would love to invite you to apply for Business School. This is my own private practice to help dietitians start and grow private practices that are realistic, sustainable, and aligned with the life they want to create.

🌟 Our next cohort begins Monday, June 15!

"It’s so much more than food that’s going to impact your chances of getting pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy... Dietitians can really shine when we’re helping clients navigate the barriers they’re experiencing.”

In Season 4 Episode 6 of The Pursuing Private Practice Podcast, I’m joined by Rachelle Mallik , reproductive dietitian and founder of The Food Therapist, for a conversation about building a private practice within the reproductive health space, supporting clients through vulnerable seasons of life, and using clinical expertise to create new opportunities in business.

In this episode, Rachelle shares the story behind her 20‑year journey from an IVF patient coordinator at Weill Cornell to a reproductive dietitian who now supports clients through every stage of their reproductive lifespan.

We discuss how dietitians can provide thoughtful, ethical support while knowing when to bring in other providers, and how dietitians can grow their specialty beyond one-on-one care.

This conversation is a reminder that reproductive health is not a narrow niche.

Rachelle shows how fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, PCOS, endometriosis, lactation, and perimenopause can all live under one specialty when you understand the deeper needs of your clients.
