A University of Minnesota team received a $6 million grant to design mouse models for studying genetic variants linked to Parkinson’s disease. The grant, from Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s and The Michael J. Fox Foundation, enables the team to join the Collaborative Research Network, which develops resources for Parkinson’s research. The team will use

…..and so this happened yesterday! After a trip to the dermatologist for a full body scan, what do they find, a Basel Cell Carcinoma. Research has shown an association between Parkinson’s disease and melanoma. This is a good reminder for all of us to apply sunscreen (at least an SPF 30+) daily, wear your sunglasses and hat and don’t forget to schedule your annual skin check. A little prevention goes a long way!
