After 9 years of service, Detective Haney is turning in his badge and fancy camo outfits, at the Novi Police Department and heading to his next adventure.
Detective Haney started his career as a cadet before becoming a police officer. He later joined SRT as operator and later became a team leader. Detective Haney was also a Field Training Officer and later joined our DEA group as a detective, continuing to take on every challenge that came his way.
Throughout his career, Detective Haney was known for his strong work ethic, willingness to tackle any assignment, and his ability to keep everyone laughing along the way. I am sure you will get that vibe from some of these pictures😂. Detective Haney is definitely one of a kind!
We thank Detective Haney for his years of service, dedication, and the countless laughs he provided. We wish him nothing but success in the next chapter of his career!

Good morning, Novi. The Novi Police Department is asking for your assistance in locating a missing senior and vulnerable adult. Abbas Khalil, an 82-year-old male described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, bald, and of Middle Eastern descent was last seen leaving a residence near Nine Mile, between Haggerty and Meadowbrook (22400 block of Cranbrooke) around 8p on Wednesday evening. He was observed walking south and was wearing a blue polo shirt, gray pants, and brown shoes.
Mr. Khalil suffers from several medical conditions, including a seizure disorder, heart-related health issues, and asthma, which heighten concerns for his well-being. He does not have access to a vehicle, a cellular phone, or financial resources.

Not all hero’s wear capes. Some wear reflective traffic vests, that flap in the wind and move several traffic cones (that are surprisingly heavy) in 80° heat while on the exit ramp to Novi Rd. It’s not an easy or glamorous task, but hey, someone’s gotta do it!

Ya know, cops like more than just donuts. We also love us a nice iced coffee, driving around Walled Lake, while singing Ella Langley…. even the male officers too.
