Behavioral health is the fastest-growing area affecting post-acute communities today. Adults in post-acute care often struggle with neurocognitive disorders (NCD), including delirium, amnestic disorders, major neurocognitive disorders due to medical conditions, cerebrovascular disease, and alcohol-related cognitive issues. Caring for adults with behavioral health challenges is creating new care service opportunities for providers — but it can also result in serious clinical and compliance issues, and even new stress levels for care teams, if not managed and executed with compassion, awareness and education.

By attending this webinar, post-acute facilities and communities will learn how to:
-Understand residents by understanding their behaviors: How to diligently, thoroughly and correctly assess new onset impairments and changing cognition to achieve regulatory compliance and high standards of person-centered, quality care while avoiding readmissions to the hospital.

-Improve use of non-pharmacologic behavioral interventions for challenging behaviors: How practitioners can successfully use their first line of behavioral intervention, effective communication, to increase resident and family satisfaction and improve CMS Five-Star Ratings.
-Utilize combinations of pharmacological and behavioral interventions to decrease rehospitalizations, compassionately care for residents with changing cognition and challenging behaviors, and increase toolboxes to reduce clinician and staff stress.
