I started Makeup and Beauty Blog one random afternoon after the Barbie Loves MAC collection came out, and I was so moved by it that I had to dish with someone other than my husband, who try as he did, just couldn't understand. -Karen
I’m only two years overdue (!), but finally... a haircut. ✂️ Shout-out to all the hair stylists still doing the damn thing. What would we be without you? Your skill and craft is truly essential. ❤️ My hair has, quite literally, been hurting for the past two months (so long and heavy that it’s been giving me daily headaches), and to have a few inches chopped off and some layers added in feels like such a physical and emotional relief. ✨Side note: I actually tried cutting my own hair out of desperation, but after those first few snips I knew it was not going to end well. So I chickened out and kept putting it off until I just couldn’t take it anymore. 😬 I ended up finding a cute outdoor hair salon in Marin country and a super cool stylist who really listened to me, . 💖 Even though everyone was masked up and taking precautions, to reduce the amount of time I’d have to be in the chair, the salon suggested I wash my hair at home and arrive to the appointment with it wet, so that’s what I did. I also double-masked and wore my glasses. 👓 Ariana really took the time to see where my hair naturally wanted to part, then guided me through what realistically it would and wouldn’t do. She suggested going with a Bridget Bardot-style cut with curtain bangs so I could keep the length, yet drop the weight. The curtain bangs would also allow some softness around my face for when I need to throw my hair up into a bun or a ponytail (which is often). 💕

Well, hi there. 🌸💕💖 I actually brushed my hair and put on makeup today. 🤣 I’m loving this base - it’s lightweight but still polished and elegant. I did a 50/50 mix of Your Skin But Better Foundation in Tan 41 and Pinklite Strobe Cream buffed on with a skunk brush. Spot concealer with a teeny tiny pencil brush ( #13 brush) and Supernatural Concealer.
