Shocking confession, we never had a toilet in our first rig 😳 We used either public restrooms or went responsibly in nature. In our time on the road, we've seen more and more use of public lands and some *ahem* not so responsible bathroom habits 🤮
Wanting to be part of the solution, we decided to add Boxio, the simple, sustainable, composting toilet to our new build! We love their mission of offering an affordable option for boondocking bathrooms. Some of our favorite features:

Our door is installed! Time to move on to the back wall. We've taken on a pretty massive fabrication project here...
Inspired by .wander.box, we're building a wall that flips up! Metal has been FLYING! Lots of welding, grinding, cutting 😳 This project hasn't been without it's headaches BUT we keep telling ourselves it will all be worth it parked up on the beach in Baja with the sea breeze flowing in 🏖
We've still got a ways to go on this rear wall but we're excited to turn to the inside when we're done, what do you think is next?!

Meet our new rig! 🚐💨🤸‍♂️🤸‍♀️
She's a 2015 GMC Savana with a 10 foot cargo box! We flew all the way across the country from California to Florida to find the elusive GM 6.0L engine on a box truck platform.
We have huge plans for this rig and we can't wait to get started building our next tiny home on wheels. Things we're most excited about are being able to stand and turning this baby into an off-road beast. Follow along for the build process, it's gonna be a good one 👀

Three years in photos 📸
It was nearly impossible to choose ten favorites from these past three years on the road. We never dreamed all the places this little van would take us.
1. Delta Lake, Grand Tetons, one of the most stunning lakes we've seen
2. Our first night on the road in Colorado, Joni had no clue what she was in for, but she was stoked
3. The iconic Alabama Hills, possibly our favorite boondocking spot
4. Mount Ranier, always a classic
5. Casper in Sedona, those sunsets are unmatched
6. Getting engaged in Muir Woods, forever a special spot now
7. Baja, Mexico. I could say so much about this place, it's stolen our hearts
8. Stanley, ID Hot Springs, enough said.

Denali is the highest mountain peak in North America with a summit of 20,310 feet. It is the tallest mountain on earth from base to peak, measuring 18,000 feet. Located in the Alaska range it is the centerpiece of Denali National Park in central Alaska. This photo is a composite of 12 images taken from Talkeetna, over 60 miles away, with a 600mm lens. We feel truly grateful to have been able to witness Denali multiple times over the course of a few days as it is often shrouded in clouds.
