What is a clean room?
A clean room is a controlled space where the air is carefully filtered to keep dust, particles, and other contaminants out. These environments are used for research and manufacturing where air quality needs to stay extremely clean and consistent.

In May 2025, the Downing Heating team installed filtered air fans to positively pressurize the clean room at X-Demics, a research institute located in Novato, CA. By keeping the room under positive pressure, clean filtered air is constantly pushed into the space so outside air and contaminants can’t enter.
