Sandra Jeknavorian, the program coordinator of Visual Fine Arts at TRCC, is wanting to gauge interest in an art therapy program for our veterans. If you are interested, send her an email. Here is a page she shared about the benefits of art therapy.

Hi, everyone. Just wanting to introduce myself. I'm Tom, the new(ish) manager for the Oasis. I actually started last year, but I've recently taken on partial responsibility for posting Oasis/Veteran related updates here on our Veterans' page.
Things were pretty tough for a while, and even if the Oasis was open, it wasn't all that busy due to Covid. But, classes are more or less back to normal and people are attending school in person again. I think I may have had more veterans in already this semester than in the entirety of the last two semesters combined. Still nothing like pre-Covid numbers though.
Here are a couple updates:
1. The new issue of GI Jobs is in for those interested.
2. I'm working on getting the computers re-imaged to have all of the software we use for our various classes available for when students want to come in and do school work requiring special programs like AutoCAD.
3. The Veteran's Club is a non-entity for now as there is no one to lead it and seemingly no one expressing serious interest in doing so. If anyone is interested in getting it going again, or just participating if it does get up and running, let me know and we'll work on getting it squared away.
I'll have the room open M-F 1000-1500 for the foreseeable future. Coffee and printing are still free and the snacks and drinks are all stocked up. Come in and pay me a visit!
Thanks everyone,
Tom
