The True Account of Katie Campbell’s Experience with Conquer PT
It was always going to be a poor choice playing in my college alumni volleyball match against ladies 20 years younger than myself.* As I was going up for an epic spike that would surely show the younguns how a lefty outside hitter could kill it cross-court **, I tore my Achilles. I assure you that I did this with the grace and poise of a ballerina and it was not awkward at all. Being an educator, I decided it was a teachable moment for the stunned sweet summer children around me about the perils of the sport, not stretching, and generally becoming a sloth. Once I did my duty, I tried to walk it off like a champ as they resumed their match.*** Rob told me this all sounded pretty normal as he is, well, all-knowing. After my surgery,**** I got a scooter to get me back into the classroom and Rob to get me back on my feet.
Rob previously did wonders for my lingering college volleyball injuries and I am overjoyed he has opened up his own business. The word that comes to mind when I think of Conquer PT is “family”. ***** In these times, one can easily feel like part of the crowd making up a business quota. And so I am so pleased that from the consultation to the last formal appointment and beyond, Rob has been personally invested in my recovery and overall well-being.
There is so much to say about Conquer PT.******
>>Rob takes real care of his patients. The individualized attention to my recovery meant a program that incrementally adjusted to my progress with a mix of standard and evolving exercises. The format made me feel comfortable but never too overwhelmed with new activities. Rob kept each appointment interesting and challenging each time. I trusted him to actively monitor and adjust my exercises in real-time. This was a change from some previous PT experiences during which I was part of a rotation that became either stagnated and redundant or so challenging it probably did more damage than good. ******** Though I might have cursed at Rob once or twice while on one of the pieces of balance (torture) equipment, I always knew it was for my own good and that complaining was futile.
>>Rob treats his patients like family because he takes the time to relate to each of us in an individualized way. Conversations are continual and go beyond the basic updates on the time since the last appointment. He finds topics to discuss which are meaningful to his patients.********* Whenever another patient was warming up or cooling down, I was fascinated with the breadth of topics he would discuss and how engaged everyone would be.********* At times, it felt like a family of patients and I was sad when I had to wave goodbye.
>>Rob is dependable and can be counted on like family. He tries to work around his patients’ schedules. And though he has a very busy schedule with his business and family, he is very flexible and understanding when a change is necessary. He is mindful of when one is likely available and will even reach out if he sees an appointment that might fit better if it comes up.
>>Last but NOT least, Conquer PT sets itself apart from others because it truly is a family business. It functions like a well-oiled machine due to Rob’s lovely wife, Daniela. The paperwork and communications are efficient and professional. The two are in constant contact and it is clear that these guys are in lock-step. No one is falling through the cracks. Having Daniela around and catching sight of the boys now and then brings a warmth and ease to the atmosphere. And so, let me hit it home once again. Though, this is their business, they treat their patients like a part of the family.
This is why I am so thankful for Conquer PT. I’m back to making questionably poor choices and trying to break myself of my slothy ways!********** I am comforted that no matter what major or minor damage I do to myself, Rob and his crew will be there to help me get back into tip-top shape.
* Please don’t be doing the math in your head right now. I am still a hot ticket.
**...after taking a four-year break from playing in favor of enjoying my Kindle and online streaming services...
*** ...that was now actually competitive.
**** Shout out to Coastal Orthopaedic.
***** The runners up were laughter, comfort, personalized, and Pandora stations
****** I wondered, “Shall I compare it to a Summer’s day?” But I decided that it would be better to make a list, as Benjamin Franklin would. Seriously! Some consider him the “godfather” of lists. I read that on the internet.
******** The infamous “Marathon Dumbbell Lunges Incident of 2009” comes to mind.
********* He can thank me for his increased familiarity with Afghanistan’s geography, and coaching in the FCIAC. I can thank him for new knowledge about the volleyball teams at Calf Pasture, the American passport system, and how to raise charming little boys.
********** I cannot stress enough that I am still a hot ticket.

This is why individualized care is so important... A scan doesn’t tell the true story of how a person feels, what s/he can do, or the potential for recovery.
Treat the wo(man), not the scan. Great graphic

Trying Physical Therapy First For Low Back Pain May Curb Use Of Opioids A study of patients with low back pain finds that those who got physical therapy first needed fewer pricey scans and surgeries and had "significantly lower out-of-pocket costs" for treatment overall.

Nicole's results were so inspiring that our own Daniela Purslow made sure to have her abs separated in pregnancy too, just so she can be treated by Rob and get fit like Nicole 😉
"I came to Conquer PT to address separated abs from my 2nd pregnancy. I was very impressed with the thoroughness of Rob’s evaluation and subsequent therapy and exercise plan that focused on a full body recovery and not simply the abdominal muscles.
Rob was able to not only help me repair the separation, but also get me stronger than I was pre-pregnancy and back to my yoga routine."
