K11 Wind Farm Service Vessel

Attending the Environmental Business Council of New England's seminar about the Cape Wind Project which is going up in Nantucket Sound. The wheels are starting to turn faster and we hope the future includes our K11 Offshore Wind Farm Service Vessels.

Taranto was able to maneuver the Force 8 RIB alongside the victim's boat enabling Vetare to jump onboard and take control of the vessel. The inflatable tubes on the RIB boat were critical to allowing Officer Taranto to make contact with the victim's boat while underway and enabling a safe transfer of Officer Vetare. Congratulations go out to each of these officers for their performance and well deserved award.

Today, Norwalk Marine Police Officers John Taranto and David Vetare were honored as 2009 Officers of the Year for their actions last fall in saving a suicidal man in a speeding boat off Norwalk's shoreline. The victim, incoherent at the helm of his boat was speeding at approximately 30 knots in strong seas towards imminent destruction on a rocky island.

Today Force 8 Marine, together with their partner Rock Salt Boats is delivering a Rock Salt aluminum patrol boat to the Stamford, CT Police Marine Unit. Cold day but looking forward to some time on the water with another new boat that is helping improve safety and security on Long Island Sound. Pictures to follow.
