The 7th grade students have been engaged in a year-long interdisciplinary unit centered on the Long Island Sound. The primary goal of the unit is to deepen students’ understanding of water pollution while promoting environmental care and local community awareness. As part of this work, students will design and install a rain garden using native plants on the SBS campus to help mitigate runoff and highlight sustainable practices. In addition, students will develop presentations and informational brochures aimed at raising awareness about water pollution within our local community in South Norwalk, CT.
