We had an amazing time honoring our students during the Closing Ceremony for the Spring 2026 Saturday Academy! ✨
As March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day, we encouraged our students to wear mismatched socks to show support and raise awareness! 💙🎗️💛
During the ceremony, we recognized our Speech and Debate team for their incredible efforts during last week’s Regional Speech and Debate Competition! We also watched a performance from the TK/Kinder and 1st & 2nd grade classes, as well as listened to our 3rd-5th grade class recite poems based on the lives of inspiring women in honor of Women’s History Month!
It was a busy day as the 43rd State Migrant Parent Conference was held virtually today as well! Each year, one student is selected as the MEP Honor Student for Region 10 - Los Angeles County to be recognized at this conference. Our very own, Emmanuel Salazar Lira is this year’s honoree representing Norwalk-La Mirada and Los Angeles County with pride. He briefly stepped away from the conference to address our community during the ceremony where he gave a motivational message encouraging students to always do their best and to help others along the way!
Emmanuel’s commitment to his education and hard work over the years earned him admission to various universities, and he officially commit to Loyola Marymount University with a full ride scholarship! ¡Muchas felicidades Emmanuel! 👏🏽
The MEP team would like thank everyone that joined us today and over the past 5 Saturdays!
Be sure to sign up for our next academy this summer! Applications are now available in the MEP office at Huerta! ✨
