What filling would you like to see in a doughnut?

This is the first sourdough boule of 2022. I learned how to make sourdough in 2021 and it has been a great experience. It's nice to have hot bread whenever you want it.

Sourdough doughnuts turned out pretty good. I live in the best community! Our market was successful and I sold out pretty quick. They were a lot of work, but I enjoyed it. Shout out to my son that was my sous chef and company keeper while I fried doughnuts at 3am in the morning. Stay tuned for the next batch. I had strawberry and blueberry jam filled, nutella filled and cinnamon and sugar! I will be trying new flavors next time. I already have a request for lemon curd. Yum!

I am feeling a sense of accomplishment. I made these sourdough donuts over the weekend and they were delicious. I am learning so much about bread making and the journey definitely is not without fails, but when you get it right, it feels oh so good!

I made this yeasted sourdough bread last week and I loved it. It was soft and light and had a mild sourdough flavor which I prefer. I will try this one again this weekend.

Donuts.... They just need vanilla pastry cream.

Well I am done baking for the day. Mini banana bread loaves is where its at! My house smells divine and I wish I could bottle up this smell and spray it when I'm not baking! Are you baking or cooking this holiday weekend?
