Beautiful gift shop/artisan gallery in the heart of Western Massachusetts. Handmade + Local. Ceramics + Jewelry + Home Goods.

Pinch was founded in 1979 by three female potters and continues to focus on artisan-made goods, and is still locally and female owned.

We’ve been so busy with all of our Hilltown 6 events over here at Pinch, but we haven’t forgotten about Pride Month! 🌈 We are very proud to be in a state and city that welcomes all! Of course, all are welcome at Pinch! 🫶

Inspired by the Massachusetts slogan “All Are Welcome Massachusetts,” our owner, Jena (Jena Sujat), designed these sweet sweatshirts and tote bags for us! They are produced locally, and the sweatshirts come in unisex sizing. Available in-store and online at pinchgoods.com.

We are still reminiscing on the opening reception of our Hilltown 6 exhibition! We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing ceramics community right here in Western Mass. 🤗

A huge THANK YOU to Michael McCarthy for being a Pinch artist for 23 years! It is our honor and pleasure to celebrate you (along with the rest of the Hilltown 6) during this milestone 20th anniversary as a group. 🎉 We learned so much about glazing, firing, and all things pottery during the Artist Talks portion of the reception. It is so impressive how much time and physical labor go into each artist’s craft!

There’s still time to shop our Hilltown 6 collection in-store and online at pinchgoods.com! 🏺 Plus, the Hilltown 6 is gearing up for their 20th annual pottery tour, so make sure you check out their website (hilltown6.com) for more details.

We are so excited to introduce Sam Taylor — a studio potter who has been based in the foothills of the Berkshires for the last 40 years! 🌲⛰️

Sam is a self-described “slow potter.” He regularly amends his clay with sand from the North Branch of the Manhan River and sand he has collected from around the world. Sam hand-builds art and creates pots on a foot-powered treadle wheel, which then get fired in a wood-burning kiln. 🙌🏽

As a member of the Hilltown 6, Sam’s work is included in our celebratory pottery exhibition in honor of the group’s twentieth year together! The Hilltown 6 collection is available in-store at Pinch and online at pinchgoods.com until June 30th. Plus, you can get a behind-the-scenes look at each artist’s process during the Hilltown 6’s upcoming 20th Annual Pottery Tour! Check out their website, hilltown6.com, for more details! 👀

👋🏽 Meet Robbie Heidinger — an incredible artist and a member of the Hilltown 6. We are so thrilled to have her work in the shop during June to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary! 🎉

Fueled by the intersection of painting and clay, Robbie began exploring ceramics over two decades ago. Without creating literal imitations of plants, she is still able to emulate “biosophy” throughout her work by focusing the abstraction on the structures of organic life. 🏺

Robbie’s work and the rest of the Hilltown 6 collection will be available at Pinch and online at pinchgoods.com until June 30th. Plus, you can get a behind-the-scenes look at each artist’s process during the Hilltown 6’s upcoming 20th Annual Pottery Tour! Check out their website, hilltown6.com, for more details! 👀

Say hello to Christy Knox (Natural Elements Pottery) — naturalist, educator, and full-time studio potter of 45 years. Christy is one of the members of the Hilltown 6 that we are lucky enough to feature in the shop during the group’s celebratory exhibition! 🏺

She specializes in soft slab construction with embossed surface decoration made from local flora. 🌿 Her work has been represented by galleries throughout the United States and is held in private collections around the world! 👏🏽👏🏽

Join us TODAY (Friday, June 12) at Pinch from 5-8 pm for Arts Night Out! Explore the display, enjoy refreshments, and connect with the local pottery community. The event is free and open to everyone!

We want to thank everyone who came out to celebrate the Hilltown 6 (Hilltown6) with us on Saturday! One of the most incredible parts of Massachusetts is how large, close, and accessible the clay community is. Having moments like this past Saturday to spend together, build connections, and learn from each other is so valuable. We are quite honored to play host! ❤️

Thank you to Donald Clark for facilitating such a wonderful discussion between our visiting potters and for setting up a gorgeous display.

Thank you to our Hilltown 6 potters who came out for the opening: Michael McCarthy, Maya Machin (Maya Machin Pottery), Mark Shapiro, Hiroshi Nakayama, and Robbie Heidinger. Your reverence for each other’s work and insight into your creative processes is so appreciated!

Thank you to Christy Knox (Natural Elements Pottery) and Sam Tyalor, who couldn’t make it to the opening but whose work we are so proud to display this month. You have been a pleasure to know and coordinate with!

Please join us this Friday, June 12, from 5-8pm for Arts Night Out to continue the celebration and view the collection. 👀 Admission is free and open to the public. Wine and light snacks will be served! 🍷

🏺 The Hilltown 6 collection is available in-store and online at pinchgoods.com through June 30th.
