It’s been a warm week, but our chip seal crew — led by Randy Putnam — has been hard at work! Yesterday, the team completed a project in Grand Mound near City Hall. Chip seal is a cost-effective alternative to asphalt and concrete, helping communities and HOAs stretch their maintenance budgets without sacrificing durability. We're proud to partner with the Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa and University of Iowa College of Engineering students to further education on hot mix asphalt (HMA) production. Today, we gave the students a behind-the-scenes look at how HMA is made. Special thanks to Dalton Leeman and Taylor Maxfield for their expertise in explaining HMA production! What a beautiful day to finish our project in North English. We were contracted for asphalt paving and line striping. We think it looks pretty fresh!
