What a morning we had with Sean Poppy from Savannah River Ecology Laboratory ugasrel! We learned so much! Thank you Sean and to all of YOU for coming out! This was our first year that we got to experience all the bodily functions with the animals 😂😳 We’re sure it will be a day these kids will never forget!

Speaking of not forgetting! Tomorrow morning at 11 am we are happy to welcome Mr. Damon’s Shadow Puppet Theatre! mr_damons_shadow_puppets You do not want to miss this!

Thank you to the Aiken Community Theatre Youth Wing for their fantastic performance of “Fast Food” today! We had a blast! These teens are always funny and never fail to impress.

Sage Renee sends her deepest apologies for her unexpected absence from Monday's History of Dungeons & Dragons gathering. Alas, fate had other plans, and she was waylaid by a most troublesome rogue Myconid before she could reach the tavern hall!

Fear not! The quest has not been abandoned. The adventure has been rescheduled for the first Monday of July, when Sage Renee hopes to once again regale heroes and scholars alike with tales from the rich history of Dungeons & Dragons.

We hope all who intended to join this noble expedition will be able to answer the call and gather with us on the new date. Until then, may your dice roll true and your encounters be ever in your favor!

We knew it would fill up fast, but wow! Our Mario Kart Tournament is now full. We do have a standby list, please call (803-279-5767, press 2 at the menu) to have your child placed on the list.

It is first come, first serve and you will have to attend to see if your child is able to play. We will have a second Switch onsite for practice and for others to play and Mario Uno.

Unfortunately, we have to cancel tonight's Dungeons and Dragons program, for our Dungeon Master has sadly fallen ill from a terrible curse of the cold. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our heroic adventurers. We hope our DM will be feeling better soon!

We had an absolute blast with Didgeridoo Down Under this morning! Mr. Rob kept everyone entertained while teaching us about Australia, interesting animals, and the environment. Best of all, we got plenty of chances to be as silly as possible! 😄 A big thank-you to everyone who joined us today! We loved sharing this fun and educational experience with you!

Next Friday, we welcome Savannah River Ecology Laboratory at 10:30 am (Recommended for grades K-5) and the Savannah River Archaeological Research Program will be here with Cave Art at 2 pm (Recommended for grades K-8).

Summer fun starts NEXT WEEK at the Nancy Carson Library!

We’re kicking things off with Teen Programs (for rising 6th–12th graders) on Monday, Storytime makes its return on Wednesday, and on Friday we’re excited to welcome back the amazing Didgeridoo Down Under! 🦘🎶

We can’t wait to see everyone for another fun-filled summer! If you haven’t picked up a schedule yet, you can find them at the front desk and in the children’s area. You can also check out ALL of our summer events on Facebook and our website!

Don't forget to log your Summer Reading! Pick up a paper reading log at the library or register online at abbe.beanstack.org to track your progress. Children and teens who read 450 minutes by August 5 will earn a fantastic dino-themed prize bag and be entered into our Summer Reading grand prize drawing!

All ABBE Regional Library System Libraries will be CLOSED Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen with regular operating hours on Tuesday, May 26.
