πππ SUPPORT STAFF OF THE YEAR πππ
Mrs. Hood has worked with the Edgefield County School District for twenty-four years. She currently works in our CAI Lab but also has prior experience as a paraprofessional. She comments that the best part of her job is βinteracting with the students and adults.β
When asked how she felt about being selected as Support Staff of the Year, Mrs. Hood said she was βover the top excited.β Her message to our students is that βyou can completely do whatever you put your mind to. Just hang in there.β
Thank you, Mrs. Hood, for the way you serve our students and our school. We are so blessed to have you! π΄β€οΈπ€

πππ TEACHER OF THE YEAR πππ
Mrs. Milton has been in education for eighteen years. The year she spent as a substitute, coupled with raising three young kids, motivated her to seek a career in teaching. She taught sixth grade and seventh grade science before becoming the Project Lead the Way (Gateway) teacher. Her favorite part of her job is seeing the expression on studentsβ faces when they finally understand what sheβs teaching. βItβs the light bulb moment for me. I love seeing the learning process play out in front of me.β
She was proud and humbled to learn that she was selected as the Teacher of the Year. βTo know that someone thought of me as having those qualities of an effective educator is priceless. The other candidates are excellent teachers, and I have utilized some classroom strategies from each of them,β Mrs. Milton says. She has this message for our students: βItβs the challenging moments where you grow the most. Donβt give up. There is a reward for all of your hard work.β
Thank you, Mrs. Milton, for the way you serve our students and our school! π΄β€οΈπ€
