Most shop owners think the biggest problems come from a bad install.
The truth is, most costly mistakes start long before the vehicle ever leaves the bay.
Missed communication.
Inconsistent processes.
No documentation.
No clear handoff between team members.
The shops that grow year after year aren’t perfect. They have systems that help them deliver consistent results, even when things get busy.
That’s why continuing education matters. Not just learning new products and technology, but learning better ways to run the business behind the install.
What’s one process your shop improved that made the biggest difference?

The best shops in our industry have one thing in common.
They never assume they’ve learned it all.
Technology changes.
Vehicles change.
Consumer expectations change.
The installers and business owners who continue to invest in their education are the ones who stay ahead.
That’s what KnowledgeFest is all about.
Real-world training taught by people who do the work every day. New ideas you can bring back to your shop. Skills that help you serve customers better and grow your business.
Because in the 12-volt industry, standing still isn’t really standing still.
The shops that keep learning are the shops that keep leading.
when every conversation somehow turns into classes, installs, networking, and what’s waiting on the show floor.
The schedule is set.
The plans are made.
Now it’s just a matter of getting there.

Every installer knows this feeling.
Customer drops off the car, totally confident it’s a quick one. You smile, nod, and two hours in you’re elbow-deep in wiring you didn’t expect.
There’s no such thing as a 5-minute job. There’s only a job you haven’t started yet.
Tag an installer who’s lived this. And if you want to get better at quoting, diagnosing, and managing customer expectations, that’s exactly what KnowledgeFest is for.

At KnowledgeFest Las Vegas, Yamil Widy of Traffic Jams Motorsport was answering questions from the classroom floor when an attendee brought up competitor relationships. His answer was direct.
One of his competitors, SK Customs, was in the room at the same time.
“We play well with everyone, because at the end of the day, it’s a small community. Don’t make enemies with your competitors because that doesn’t help the industry at all. Learn how to work with each other.”
That’s not a common posture in retail. Most industries treat the shop down the street as a threat. The 12V trade has always operated differently, and KnowledgeFest is part of why. When you put competing shop owners in the same classroom, they stop seeing each other as competition and start seeing each other as peers working through the same problems.
Yamil’s shop and SK Customs were both there. Both learning. Both better for being in the room together.
That’s the whole idea. Collaboration is better than negative competition.🔥

Every installer knows the feeling.
You go in for a “quick” wire run.
Thirty minutes later, you’re folded into a position no chiropractor could explain, trying to reach a connector that engineers clearly hid as a challenge.
KnowledgeFest may not improve your flexibility, but it will help you work smarter.
Train with the best in the industry, learn new techniques, and pick up ideas that save time on the installs that test your patience.
The back pain is still on you. 😆
