Growing up here, I learned hard work, responsibility, and the value of our land. We raise cattle, grow food, and take care of what we’ve been given—because once our farmland is gone, it’s gone forever. But City Hall keeps pushing for more development, more concrete, and less land for families to farm.

The politics in Norman are truly disgusting. Larry Heikkila is a good man who has done a great deal for the city, especially in his fight for Police and Fire. Yet, people in politics choose to fabricate narratives, spread misinformation, and attack his character instead of addressing real issues. Those driving these false narratives look you in the eye, smile, and shake your hand, all while harboring fake support and questionable integrity behind closed doors.

The corruption and acceptance of this behavior under the excuse of “it’s just politics” is unacceptable. Larry Heikkila is a man of principle, and Norman doesn’t deserve someone of his caliber if this is how the political landscape chooses to operate. If you fall for the lies and choose to support someone else, the consequences for Norman will be on you and the city will suffer because of it.
