Proud to assist with another project on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman.
As part of a planned sidewalk improvement project, our crew safely removed a declining oak tree using professional climbing techniques and protecting the existing landscape.
Whether we're caring for a backyard tree or supporting a large campus project, we're grateful for the opportunity to serve Oklahoma's trees. 🌳🧙♂️ 💚

🌳 Happy World Environment Day! 🌳
Trees do more than beautify our communities. They provide shade, improve air quality, reduce stormwater runoff, support wildlife, and help keep our neighborhoods cooler.
Today we're grateful for the trees that make Norman and the surrounding communities such wonderful places to live and work.
Take a moment to appreciate a favorite tree today. 💚

Recently we came upon this rope around a tree.
Trees are remarkable at compartmentalizing injuries, but ropes, wires, chains, fencing, signs, and other objects left against a tree can become embedded as the trunk expands over time.
The most common culprit is often staking a young tree and simply not realizing how quickly time passes. What was meant to support a newly planted tree for a season can be forgotten for years as the tree continues to grow.
The worst we've ever found?
An old farm plow.
The tree had grown around it completely, leaving none of the metal visible.
Let's just say the stump grinder "Godzilla" wasn't very happy about it. 😅
What the strangest thing you've ever found growing into a tree?

“What stands out most about this yard is how personal it is. Nothing feels random.”
We always enjoy seeing Mariah’s writing featured in Stroll Brookhaven. This month’s story, “A Place Collected Over Time,” highlights a truly unique Norman property shaped by family, craftsmanship, memory, and intention over time.
As a family business rooted in Brookhaven and arboriculture, these kinds of stories mean a great deal to us. Thank you to Stroll Brookhaven for continuing to spotlight the people and places that make this community special.

Treating chlorosis in a pin oak today here in Norman.
Yellowing leaves with green veins can be a sign of iron chlorosis — a common issue in pin oaks growing in Oklahoma soils.
Today’s treatment included trunk injections as part of a plant health care plan to help improve nutrient availability and overall tree vigor.
Not every stressed tree needs removal. Proper diagnosis matters.

“Go-go Godzilla!” 😄
This year marks 20 years with “Godzilla”. Don’s longtime stump grinder and still one of his favorite machines.
Over the years, Godzilla has gone through several shields, but Don’s homemade version has been the best one yet.
Today’s stump had an old buried T-post in it, and Don knew exactly how he wanted it handled. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to the camera fast enough before he had already handled it. 😂
A little T-post battle and a little Godzilla nostalgia for the OG Tree Wizard. 🌳

🌲 Bagworms: A Tree’s June Bug.
We’re beginning to spot newly hatched bagworms now while they’re still tiny.
Late April through mid-May is when eggs hatch and young larvae begin forming the small bags many homeowners never notice until summer damage appears.
Late May into June is often the most important treatment window, while young larvae are still highly susceptible to treatment.
Junipers, arborvitae, cedars, and other evergreens are especially vulnerable.
Catching them early matters.
