The gallery will be closed for the remainder of the week as we take time to remember, mourn the loss and celebrate the life of our dear friend, gallery artist & chosen family, Harvey Pratt.

“Our prayers are covering Gina & the entire Pratt family as we mourn a great loss. Harvey Pratt was not just an artist we saw on occasion, the beginning of our relationship was rooted 45 years ago at an art show. A friendship, mentorship and deep bond was formed over the years from that first meeting it strengthened with my 6 years as Director of the Oklahoma Indian Art Gallery and through my career. Harvey began advocating for us to open a gallery in Norman in 1989 - and remained an intricate part of Tribes Gallery since its inception in 1990. Over the years, he was more than an artist, he was family— my own daughter grew up calling him ‘Uncle Barbie’ as she couldn’t quite get the hang of ‘Harvey’ until her older years. Always sharing his wisdom, always present and available as a friend, first and foremost. The years have afforded us countless hours of bonding, stories and life events that we cherish. But as our hearts mourn for our dear friend & his family, we along with so many who knew Harvey, will be working through this immense for much time to come.
