My teenage daughter and I recently returned from an amazing European adventure—5 countries in 2 weeks! While I wouldn't recommend this pace for every traveler, it was the perfect trip for us. With my daughter's growing interest in World War II history, we built an itinerary that combined iconic European cities with some of the most significant WWII sites in Europe.

From Amsterdam, Paris, and London to Normandy and Bastogne, we experienced everything from the Eiffel Tower and Buckingham Palace to the beaches of Normandy, the Churchill War Rooms, and the Battle of the Bulge sites in Belgium. Along the way, we traveled by plane, trains, and rental car, and plenty of walking! Every day brought a new adventure and another opportunity to see history come alive. What I loved most wasn't checking famous landmarks off a list—it was watching my daughter connect with history in a way that no classroom or book could ever replicate. Travel has a unique way of teaching, inspiring, and creating memories that last a lifetime. I'm grateful we had the opportunity to share this experience together.
