OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK

On Saturday, October 14, the Out of the Darkness Walk will take place at the MacArthur Center green from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This is the 13th year for the Out of the Darkness Walk and first year the Walk is in Norfolk.

DEPRESSION SCREENING
Depression is a treatable illness. The Norfolk Community Services Board encourages residents to take a free online mental health screening http://screening.mentalhealthscreening.org/hyho

GAP INSURANCE
Virginia GAP is expanding eligibility to adults with serious mental illness who are within 100% of the federal poverty level, up from 80%. The Norfolk Community Services Board is providing free GAP application clinics every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 3755 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. The first clinic is October 4.

Applicants should bring :

A valid Virginia ID from any public or state agency Proof of Virginia residency Documentation from inpatient or outpatient provider showing mental illness diagnosis Documentation of recent income
Applicants do not have to receive services from Norfolk Community Services Board to apply.
