Today’s Regional Board Meeting brought together business and community leaders from across the region for meaningful conversations focused on the opportunities, challenges, and strategies that will shape Hampton Roads for years to come.

Discussions included Virginia’s evolving political and business climate, key insights from this year’s Leadership Exchange, the continued development of Start in Hampton Roads, the upcoming launch of the region’s first Livability publication, the Hampton Roads Alliance’s regional Playbook and DEAL framework, and federal policy initiatives impacting economic growth and competitiveness.

These discussions are more than updates, they are part of the collaborative work driving our region forward. By aligning around shared priorities and bold ideas, we are strengthening Hampton Roads’ position as a premier place to live, work, invest, and grow.

Another impactful Hampton Roads Military Advisory Council meeting this morning.

A key highlight of the session was a virtual briefing from Timothy P. Williams, Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs, who provided important updates on Virginia's defense priorities, military installations, and initiatives impacting service members, veterans, and their families across the Commonwealth.

Regional leaders, military advocates, and community partners also received updates from HRMAC's subcommittees focused on mental health, childcare, and veteran employment—critical issues that directly affect military readiness, quality of life, and workforce success throughout Hampton Roads.

The continued collaboration and engagement demonstrated at today's meeting reflects the region's unwavering commitment to supporting one of the nation's largest military communities and ensuring Hampton Roads remains a premier place to live, work, serve, and succeed.
