Today, we commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Midway, one of the most pivotal moments in naval history. From June 4-7, 1942, the courage, skill and sacrifice of our Sailors turned the tide in the Pacific and reshaped the course of World War II.

As we honor their legacy, we’re reminded that readiness, vigilance and a commitment to safety remain essential to our mission today. Their example continues to guide us as we work to protect our Navy’s most important asset: its people.
