October 14th, is a date to put on your calendar. On this day, Windows 10 will no longer be supported. It is highly recommended to be planning for this change now. Upgrades to 11 are available but for many machines it will make more senses to replace them.

During the years where a Microsoft operating system goes out of support, vendors tend to run low on stock and they already have stocks concerns over tariff, so we recommend moving quickly.

Also on this date, Office applications like Word, Excel, etc will no longer work on Server 2016 and Server 2019. This change will mostly affect those that have hosted Remote Desktops on those operating systems, however.

The Ghent Community lost a great friend last night. Gabe Christensen passed away peacefully with his wife Kathleen by his side. Gabe was a dedicated and loving father to his two children, Anthony and Rosalie. He worked alongside Patrick Moore at MMC Benefits for 19 years. Gabe was active in community service, including his longtime membership in the Ghent Business Association where he served on numerous committees and on the GBA Board of Directors. He also served with the Kiwanis Club of Norfolk, particularly its annual Harbor Party which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local children’s charities during his involvement with the event. Please, keep the Christensen and Moore families in your thoughts. He will be missed.
