Today is National Situational Awareness Day, a reminder that staying aware of what's happening around you is an important part of working safely.

🌳 Assess your surroundings before work begins.
⚠️ Watch for new or changing hazards.
🚧 Stay aware of traffic, equipment, weather, and site conditions.
🚙 Use extra caution when driving and watch for unusual road conditions.
🗣️ Communicate changes with your crew.
📵 Limit distractions and keep your attention on the task and surroundings.

Conditions can change throughout the day. Stay alert, speak up, and look out for your crew.

On his way to work, General Foreperson Orlando Guerrero spotted a fire spreading along the side of the road beneath a power line.

Orlando stopped, called 911, and used a fire extinguisher to help keep the fire from spreading until firefighters arrived. 🚒
