A baby raccoon our ACME wildlife technicians saved today after getting stuck in a ceiling in Norfolk, VA. It was accidently sealed up in the attic by a roofing company over the weekend. We then transported the little fella to our local wildlife rehabbers at EVELYN'S WILDLIFE REFUGE
Had a recent call come in for Honey bees around a shed in Virginia Beach, but upon inspection, it ended up Mining bees(a species of ground bee, aka sweat bees). They rarely sting and are practically harmless, but can be found in large numbers during the spring season creating numerous nesting tunnels in dry dirt or sandy soil.

It's the time of year that honey bees are beginning to swarm and are looking for new places to start a colony. Please don't spray or harm these bees! Please find/contact a local honey bee keeper organization, or call our company for safe removal and relocation. ACME is the only licensed/insured wildlife company in our area that provides live removal of honey bee colonies. We collect both swarms and also provide structural removal of established hives out of walls, soffits, attic areas, and more. Once safely captured/removed, they are transported to one of our local honey bee keepers. This helps save our local honey bee population, which in turn, benefits our local environment and farmers.

ACMEs first honey bee removal of the spring season in Norfolk, VA. This colony had been in the customers chimney for over a year. They called a few beekeepers that were unable to access them since they were at the top of a 2 story Chimney. ACME is fully equipped and insured to handle any and all jobs that come our way. Full Time Position: Mon.- Fri./Approx. 40 Hours Weekly Depending on Workload, Technicians should be available to work all hours necessary Monday through Friday and on designated weekends and/or holidays. Rotating Weekend on call.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
*Valid VA Driver’s License in Good Standing (Driving Record Required for Interview)
*2 Years of Valid Trapping Experience
*Ability to Safely Operate/Maneuver a Company Vehicle with a 10ft Utility Trailer Attached
*Experience with Ladders up to 40FT
*Must be able to climb, bend, crawl and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. *Ability to fit into Crawlspaces/Tight areas
*Can NOT be knowingly allergic to Bees, Wasps, or Hornets *Willingness to learn new skills with Eagerness/motivation to Work
Duties Include:
*Responsible for selling/opening/documenting new Flying Insect/Wildlife jobs
*Maintain an Organized Route Book and Vehicle
*Properly Maintain Invoices and Animal Counts
*Properly Trap and Remove Wildlife in Compliance with VDGIF
*Make Daily documented contact with All Customers
*Report Customer Complaints to the Field Supervisor
*Properly Execute Miscellaneous Repairs
*Keep an Open Communication with Supervisors, Office Staff, and Peers.
*It is imperative this individual is a Great Team Player
Pay Rate Based Upon Experience: $16-$20/Hourly

ACME Animal Control is currently seeking an upbeat and motivated Repair Technician.
*This person will need to be available and have their own transportation to work Monday-Friday with occasional rotated Weekend On-Call.
*Valid VA Driver's License in good standing is Required. VA Driving record required at time of Interview.
*This position mandates working with others. Needs to be a Team Player.
*Can NOT have a fear of animals.
*Customer Service is a must.
*Complete Repairs per Job requirement (Insulation Clean out/Install, V***r Barrier, Crawlspace and Attic remediation, Minor roof repairs, Crawl Space Doors, Foundation Vents, Minor Tree Trimming, and other small repairs. Experience in these areas is a requirement.
*Can not be knowingly allergic to Bees, Wasps, and Hornets. Can Not be Claustrophobic or Afraid of Heights.
*Must be able to bend, crawl, and climb.
*Mandatory to be able to lift 50lbs.
*Ladder Experience is Required
*Has to have the skill and experience to drive a Pickup truck with an attached Trailer.
*Pay Rate based on Experience

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
The squirrel calls have been rolling in recently! ACME not only humanely traps and removes squirrels out of attics, but we also work closely with many licensed wildlife rehabbers. Once the mother squirrel is captured, we then go into the attic, locate the nest with baby squirrels, and transport the family to our local wildlife rehabbers. Repairs of entry holes, minor tree trimming, attic clean-up and other exclusion services are also available.
