MY FRIENDS at News 3 lost a wonderful colleague and friend this week. Wayne Pellenberg was a great photographer and an even better human being. Wayne and I really bonded in 2005 when we covered Hurricane Katrina’s landfall and aftermath on the gulf coast. Wayne was a skilled photographer, but I truly came to appreciate his calm during this crazy storm.
I’m so sad for his wife Priscilla Monti (who many of you may remember from her days anchoring the news) and their son Charlie.

One of the cool things about living in Orlando is seeing regular rocket launches from Cape Canaveral. Never gets old.

Too early?

TWO MONTHS until Christmas 🎄 and our “backyard” here in Orlando is already lit. And I suspect there’s a lot more to come!

Splurged on some new clothes.

A sign I wouldn’t be surprised to see in the mountains, but here in downtown Orlando?

DR. PEPPER chicken for dinner! It came out pretty good. I’ll share the recipe in the comments. I did make a couple of changes. I used chicken thighs instead of wings and I added a corn starch slurry to thicken the sauce a little.
Martin is a fan. If I do it again, I might add some red pepper flakes because I like sweet and spicy.

Now that we’re back in Orlando with all these parallel streets, I’m thinking I should try to draw something with my walking route maps. Any suggestions?
