Urban Baby Beginnings is hosting the Babies in Bloom Community Baby Shower today! Stop by to see what resources are available for expecting and postpartum mothers!

New Hope Church Of God in Christ is hosting a Community Day today. There are activities for the children and plenty of community resources. Norfolk WIC Program is one of the resources in the building. We hope to see you!

The Norfolk WIC program will be closed ALL day on Friday, March 20, 2026 for staff training. Services will resume on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Use your WIC benefits to purchase foods that are good sources of folic acid, an important nutrient for moms before and during pregnancy to support their growing baby.

Folic Acid is an important B vitamin that helps the body make healthy new cells. While everyone needs folic acid, people who are pregnant, or plan on becoming pregnant, need extra folic acid supplementation in addition to eating vitamin-rich foods. Getting enough folic acid before and during pregnancy can prevent major birth defects in a developing baby’s spine and brain.

Some foods with folic acid include:
🥬 Leafy green vegetables
🍑 Fresh, frozen, and canned fruits
🫘Dried or canned beans, fresh or frozen peas, and nuts
🍞Enriched breads, cereals, and other whole grain products

As part of the Norfolk Health Department, WIC will close at 12:00pm on December 24, 2025, and remain closed December 25-26, 2025. We will also be closed on January 1, 2026. Wishing you and your families a safe and pleasant holiday season.

The Norfolk Department of Public Health will be closed on the following dates for the holidays:

CLOSED at 12pm - Wednesday, December 24th
CLOSED - Thursday, December 25th
CLOSED – Friday, December 26th
CLOSED – Thursday, January 1st

In observance of Veteran’s Day, the Norfolk WIC Program will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Services will resume on Wednesday, November 12th.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11, the Norfolk Department of Public Health is closed in observance of Veteran's Day. Normal business hours will resume on Wednesday, November 12 at 8:15am.

The Norfolk WIC Office is closed on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in observance of Election Day. Services will resume on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 8:15am.
