The structure built in 1840 is listed on the state and federal historic register. The Historical Commission is dedicated to preserving our history.
The Chapel is available for rent:
Weddings, Rental is $250.00 for the event,
Security deposit; $100.00 (refundable)
Funerals $150.00
Community Gatherings

The Milton township Board of Trustees (who own the building) have decided to take steps to put the building up for sale. If you would like to encourage them to keep this landmark historic structure that is listed on both the State of Michigan and National Historic Register, please reach out to them and let them know you believe that keeping history alive is important. We, as the Smiths Chapel Historical Commission, are very sad to see this development and are currently exploring our avenues to see what can be done ensure that the building will be there for generations to come. Don't forget to join us this Saturday at 7:00 pm at the 1880s Merry Milton Holiday for a fun, historical look into the past of Smiths Chapel and Milton township. There will be festive holiday music (the Quartet plus One singing and the Dunlap United Methodist bell ringers ringing in the holiday), a history by the Smiths Chapel Historical Commission, capped off with a visit from Santa. The night is sure to get you in the historic holiday spirit sponsored by Milton township.
