His combination of technical expertise and a relationship driven sales approach will be a valuable asset to both our end users and distribution partners as he looks after the Rockies and Northwestern U.S.

We’re excited to have Coop on board and look forward to the impact he’ll make as part of the DSS team.

We recently solved a valve problem in a Lithium Processing facility. This facility was experiencing early control valve issues due to abrasive slurry, crystallization, and internal fouling. Conventional globe control valves were sticking as lithium crust formed on internal surfaces.

A DSS Severe Service Control Valve replaced one of the failing valves and operated reliably under the same conditions. With a straight-through flow path and a guided shear gate design, the DSS solution maintained consistent control where conventional designs struggled.

If Jim is the face of the Guided Shear Gate Valve, Dave is the force that keeps everything running behind the scenes. He leads our operations with discipline, structure, and precision—setting the standard for how DSS executes.

His methodical and exact approach ensures the reliability our customers depend on. Dave is the major reason our ideas turn into real products, and why DSS has grown from a great concept into a world-class Severe Service Valve manufacturer.

We’re excited to announce that Jim Pellegrini has been appointed President of DSS Valves!

Jim has been involved in the development of the Guided Shear Gate Valve for most of his life — he truly lives and breathes this technology. Walk through our assembly line or manufacturing facility, and you’ll see his influence everywhere. Many of the people who build our valves today are connected to Jim through family ties, decades-long friendships, or shared history in the industry. That says everything about the loyalty, respect, and trust he’s earned over the years.

Jim has dedicated his career to improving this critical technology and is directly responsible for several of the game-changing innovations found in today’s DSS Valves. If you look at the build options on almost any Severe Service Knife Gate Valve, chances are you can trace those ideas back to Jimmy in one way or another.
