Looking for something different for your kiddos to do for the summer? We have the answer.

Art Club!!!!

Ages 3 to 5: 9am to 11am
Ages 6 to 10: 11am to 1pm
Ages 11 to 14: 1pm to 3pm
The club meets on Tuesdays starting
June 9th thru July 28th.

***Only 6 to 8 spaces per age group left so reserve your spots now!!

Here's what you need to know:

Ages 3 to 5 will be read a book and do an activity that is adjacent to it. Such as making a moving caterpillar that wants to eat everything after reading the Hungry Caterpillar.

Ages 6 to 10 will be doing paintings, easy wood working projects such as bird houses, mosaics, tye dye and tons of other stuff.

Ages 11 to 14 will be doing more in-depth crafts such as paintings, woodworking, up cycled art, hydro dipping, tye dye, and a ton of other stuff.

*Only 6 to 8 spaces per class so reserve your spots now!

Since school runs until early June and we are missing a week that month we will be doing a glow in the dark paint party before school starts that all the participants will be invited to join!

We will require an adult to be with your child at all times. As early as 6 years old, we will be teaching them how to use a hammer and other tools.

There will be a code of conduct signed and waiver of liability. While we love to make a mess and have fun, our number one priority is to do it safely.

There will be a schedule up as far as weekly themes before school is out.

Fees:
Ages 3 to 5 : $100
Ages 6 to 14: $125

*If you have multiple children participating there is a discount of $25 per child after the first on enrolled.

If you have any questions or would like to sign your kiddos up for Art Club, please just message the page or text 859-247-2326.

🎓 From Mustangs to Jaguars 🐎➡️🐆

Last week our 5th graders received a special gift bag to celebrate all they’ve accomplished during their time at Brookside Elementary School and to wish them luck on their next adventure at East Jessamine Middle School.

Inside were a few fun items, some practical items for middle school, and lots of love from the Brookside PTO and several generous 5th grade families who helped make this gift possible.

Watching their reactions reminds us why we do what we do. These students have grown so much over the years, and while we’re excited to see where their journey takes them next, they’ll always be part of the Brookside family. ❤️

Congratulations, Class of 2033! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish.

🐷💋PIGGY FINALLY GOT KISSES!💋🐷

🖨️Back in January, our students participated in our Stuff the Pig fundraiser, collecting over 58 pounds of change and raising more than $650 to help purchase a 3D printer for Brookside Elementary School!

Today, we celebrated that success during our grade-level assemblies as one teacher from each grade level bravely stepped up to 💋kiss the pig! 🐽

A huge 🫶THANK YOU🫶 to these teachers for being such great sports and making learning & fundraising FUN for our students!

Special shout out to Lynn Albanese of Onestepatatime Farm for letting us borrow her precious piggy! And to Nikki Wilson, who took such good care of “Oakley” while she was at our school!

🥰We’d also like to thank all of our Brookside families for every penny, nickel, dime, and quarter that was donated. Your generosity will help bring new hands-on learning opportunities to our students.

Way to go Mustang Community! 💙💛🐴

📣 Principal Takeover Alert! 🏫✨

Today there’s a new principal ruling the school! Please welcome Principal Adanna Perkins!

Adanna has traded in her student duties for a very important role today—she’ll be shadowing Mr. Nick, our wonderful principal! 👔⭐

(And just like Principal Nick, Adanna looks to be a long-suffering Bengals fan, too!) 🐅

From assisting with Celebrate Success today to helping make big decisions, Adanna is getting a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to lead an entire school. We have a feeling she’ll be keeping everyone on their toes today! 😉

Good luck, Adanna! We know you’ll make an outstanding principal. 💙💛

☀️🤠 Field Day fun doesn’t just happen on its own — it takes a whole team working behind the scenes to make the day extra memorable for our Mustangs! 🐴💙💚

A HUGE shoutout to ⚾️Coach Dugle for planning and organizing the entire day from start to finish. The stations, activities, schedule, setup, and nonstop energy that go into Field Day are no small task, and today was packed with fun because of all the hard work he put into it! 👏☀️

Your Brookside PTO was proud to help support the day by:

💦 Providing water jug refill stations
🏅 Handing out ribbons to students
🤠 Purchasing & creating custom belt buckle medals and golden TugOWar rope necklaces
🏆 Creating the giant Golden Saddle trophy
🫧 Supplying chalk, bubbles & supplies from our PTO stash
🌊 Purchasing pools & water toys to help everyone stay cool and have fun in the heat

From the giant prizes to the little details, we love helping create special memories for our students. Thank you to everyone who supports our PTO and helps make days like this possible! 💙💚
