Patricia Raines, a beloved mother, dedicated entrepreneur, and cherished soul, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026. Born on October 8, 1940, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Patricia lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a passion for both family and business.

Patricia’s career was touched by her unwavering commitment and innovative spirit. Alongside her beloved spouse, Charles Edward Raines, she co-founded Raines Pool Service and Store, where her meticulous skills as a bookkeeper and entrepreneurial insight helped build a thriving family business. Together, they navigated the challenges and triumphs of entrepreneurship, creating not only a successful venture but also a legacy of teamwork and shared dreams.

Beyond her professional achievements, Patricia’s pride and joy was her role as a mother. She was the heart of her family, and the proudest of all her accomplishments was simply being their mom. Her kindness and nurturing spirit left an indelible impression on those closest to her. Patricia is survived by her loving children, Tracy Scott and Charles Raines, and her cherished daughter-in-law Janet Raines, who remain treasures of her enduring legacy.

Memories of Patricia are woven with moments of joy, especially her love for travel, reading, and RV journeys that filled her days with exploration and wonder. These passions reflected her curious mind and warm spirit, which touched the hearts of family and friends alike.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Jeanne Hess, whose memory lives on in her gentle nature, and by her beloved spouse, Charles Edward Raines, with whom she shared a life of partnership and love.

As we remember Patricia, her kindness shines brightest—a shining example of a life lived with grace and generosity. Her legacy is one of love, family, and unwavering kindness. In honoring her memory, many find solace in continuing her support for Southeastern Guide Dogs, a cause close to her compassionate heart.

Patricia Raines leaves behind a family that cherishes her deeply and many who were touched by her warmth and kindness. Her spirit will remain a beacon of love and strength for all who knew her, a reminder of the profound impact one kind soul can have on the world.
