Yesterday we celebrated our amazing seniors at our STAND senior party, and it was such a special way to wrap up this year together. ❤️

This group has built more than memories. They’ve built real friendships, supported each other through so much, and created a community that means so much to all of us. Watching these students grow, laugh, encourage one another, and simply enjoy being together has been incredible.

We’re so proud of each and every senior and so thankful for the moments we’ve shared this year. No matter where life takes them next, we hope they always remember the friendships, memories, and support they found here at STAND.

Here’s to new beginnings, lifelong friendships, and an unforgettable year. 🎓✨

Yesterday was Rachael's last day with STAND, which is bittersweet for everyone who knows her. In her five academic years with STAND, Rachael impacted countless students through intentionally carrying out STAND's mission with every interaction. But more than that, Rachael poured into the lives of the students within the STAND program through relationship-building, listening attentively, and being a true and consistent caring adult. While she won't be working with STAND moving forward, her influence on the program and her legacy within the students she impacted will be carried through in their lives for years to come!

Thank you, Rachael for your work with STAND, and we wish you all the best with your new position at Mirror!

If you have a story or memory with Rachael, drop it in the comments!

Yesterday, a handful of leaders from our STAND Board participated in Kansas Prevention Collaborative's Prevention Advocacy Day in Topeka. These leaders were able to sit down with Senator Owens, Representative Anderson, Representative King, and even briefly chat with Governor Kelly! We could not be more proud how these students represented STAND, their schools, and our communities in advocating for their peers.

Thank you to all of our elected officials who took the time to listen and connect with our leaders!

Every December our STAND Board uses the December board meeting for a Christmas party, and every year it is pure chaos, competition, and joy! This year consisted of our 5th Annual Christmas Trivia competition, minute to win it games, fun prizes, and signing 250 Christmas cards! We love taking the time to celebrate with our STAND Board members each December as we reflect on all the impacts students have made throughout the year.

So proud of our Halstead STAND members who helped to get to***co free parks passed in Halstead. Great job, Piper and Russell!

This year on Oct 1st, Halstead City Council approved a new policy to keep their parks and recreational spaces to***co-free! This non-punitive policy promotes community health by reducing exposure to secondhand smoke, as well as promoting cultural change. These signs are now posted in all of Halstead's parks and public spaces.

Cleaning the air and kindling healthier habits, one park at a time! What local park do you think should join the movement next?
